Contest upload settings

Your selection to what type of media to accept from participant will present different options to you.

Image

Enable direct image files upload

Direct upload refers to file upload. Contestant will have to upload an image file from his computer directly. The file will be hosted on your server after upload. Enabling this option will allow you have specific characteristics to the uploaded file:

Image file size constraint

The allowed file size for the uploaded image.

  • Minimum file size (kB): The minimum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).
  • Maximum file size (kB): The maximum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).

Image dimensions constraint

The allowed dimensions (width and height) for the uploaded image.

  • Minimum image height (px): The minimum image height to accept (in pixel).
  • Maximum image height (px): The maximum image height to accept (in pixel).

Image formats constraint

The allowed file formats of the uploaded image like PNG, GIF, JPG…

Video

Enable direct video files upload

Direct upload refers to file upload. Contestant will have to upload a video file from his computer directly. The file will be hosted on your server after upload. Enabling this option will allow you have specific characteristics to the uploaded file:

Video file size constraint

The allowed file size for the uploaded video.

  • Minimum file size (kB): The minimum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).
  • Maximum file size (kB): The maximum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).

Video length constraint

The allowed length of the file. It’s useful if you want to have specific length for the video. i.e. between 30 seconds and 1 minute.

  • Maximum length (seconds): The maximum video length (in seconds).
Some file types are not supported by ID3. Thus, the plugin will accept the file if the uploaded file is not supported. You can refer to ID3 supported types.

Video formats constraint

The allowed file formats of the uploaded video like MP4, AVI, MOV…

Accept video from popular services

This will allow the contestant to grab his video from a popular service like YouTube. He will just have to add the link of the video. In this case, the video file is not going to be hosted on your server and the service embed will be used to preview the submission on your site. You may select the allowed services to accept links from.

Audio

Audio file size constraint

The allowed file size for the uploaded audio file.

  • Minimum file size (kB): The minimum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).
  • Maximum file size (kB): The maximum allowed size for the uploaded file (in Kilobytes).

Audio length constraint

The allowed length of the file. It’s useful if you want to have specific length for the audio file. i.e. between 30 seconds and 1 minute.

  • Maximum length (seconds): The maximum audio length (in seconds).
Some file types are not supported by ID3. Thus, the plugin will accept the file if the uploaded file is not supported. You can refer to ID3 supported types.

Accept audio from popular services

This will allow the contestant to grab his audio clip from a popular service like SoundCloud. He will just have to add the link of the audio. In this case, the audio file is not going to be hosted on your server and the service embed will be used to preview the submission on your site. You may select the allowed services to accept links from.

Text

Useful if you want the contestants to add textual submissions like articles, novels…

Text length constraint

Will limit the length of the text. Useful if you want to have specific length for the content like 1000-1500 characters.

  • Minimum length (characters): The minimum allowed number of characters.
  • Maximum length (characters): The maximum allowed number of characters.
